MARTA COLOMBO: PIAZZA GAE AULENTI
Marta Colombos (*1984, Merate, ITA) künstlerische Forschung beschäftigt sich mit Raum, Raumerfahrung und Architektur. Dabei widmet sie sich stark dem Dialog von Altem und Zeitgenössischem und übersetzt unterschiedliche Techniken wie Malerei, Zeichnung, Druckgrafik, analoge und digitale Fotografie in raumgreifende Installationen.
Können visuelle Spuren der Geschichte kritische und kreative Denkprozesse in Gang setzen? Wie funktioniert der Dialog zwischen alten und neuen Gebäuden? Diese und weitere Fragen stellt Colombo auf ihrer Recherchereise in Mailand, wo sie sich in das Viertel Garibaldi begibt. Dorthin wo nicht nur die Geschichte das Flair des Ortes bestimmt, sondern im Zuge der Expo im Jahr 2015 die Skyline der Stadt deutlich umgestaltet wurde: Das gewaltige Bauprojekt „Porta Nuova“ erzeugt eine radikale Konfrontation klassischer sowie moderner Materialien und Formen, die Colombo untersuchen möchte.
