STEFANO CAGOL: NEW EXPERIMENTS ON VACUA

Stefano Cagol (*1969, Trient, ITA) widmet sich in Video- und Fotoarbeiten, Installationen sowie Performances der Visualisierung von Unsichtbarem. Oftmals wird der Betrachter Teil dieses Prozesses, der meist interdisziplinär angelegt ist.

Bereits 2014 war Cagol im Rahmen des VISIT-Stipendiums der RWE (heute: innogy) im Ruhrgebiet und begann die Möglichkeiten der Übersetzung von Energie in künstlerische Arbeiten auszutesten. Mit Hilfe technischer Geräte, die als kalt und neutral gelten, versucht er poetische Resultate zu erreichen. Dabei bediente er sich 2014 einer Infrarot-Kamera. Ihn interessieren hier besonders “Phänomene unter Tage”, wobei Oben und Unten als Metapher für das Bekannte und das Unbekannte zu verstehen sind.
